Our Mission

“Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”

Why does the church exist? According to Matthew’s Gospel, the risen Christ made it clear: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you” (28:19-20).

Based on this “Great Commission,” our United Methodist Church has stated its purpose: “The mission of the Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Local churches provide the most significant arena through which disciple-making occurs”

So the mission of our congregation is to make disciples. This is a four-fold task….of welcoming-worshiping-nurturing-sending.

We reach out to people and welcome them into the church.

We relate people to God and help them deepen their relationship with God.

We nurture people in Christian living.

We support people in their ministry.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to share God’s love through the church with the community.  This vision is exemplified in everything that we do.  From worship to Congregational Care we are exemplifying the love of Christ by remembering the Great Commandment, “ love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” and  “love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39).  By loving God first as God loves us, can we then truly share through the church and with the community the same love exemplified through Jesus Christ.

We are also a Casual Community of Faith which means that we are a community that comes from different backgrounds, family situations and financial situations to worship God.  We come as we are in our everyday lives to be real in our faith to God everyday not just on Sundays!  This includes our manner of dress - come in your blue jeans or your Sunday best.  Be comfortable and be who you are!
